The Books We Read:
Hare and Tortoise by Alison Murray
Is Everyone Ready for Fun? by Jan Thomas
Stuck by Oliver Jeffers

Songs & Activities:
In honor of this summer's fitness theme, we tried out a couple of action songs:

Elevator Song
To the tune of "I Had a Little Chicken"
Oh, the city is big and the city is grand,
And there are lots of tall buildings on a little piece of land.
And we live way up on the 57th floor,
So this is what we do when we go out the door...

We take the elevator UP, take the elevator DOWN,
Take the elevator UP, take the elevator DOWN,
Take the elevator UP, take the elevator DOWN,
And we turn around!

Walking Song
To the tune of "Are You Sleeping?"
Walking, walking, walking, walking;
Hop! Hop! Hop! Hop! Hop! Hop!
Running, running, running! Running, running, running!
Now we STOP!
Also:
Tiptoe, tiptoe...
Marching, marching...

Craft—Slime:

The weather was gorgeous, so we were able to make our slime outside.  Kids created their own colors, and even the grown-ups enjoyed playing with the slime!
