Not a Box by Antoinette Portis
King Jack and the Dragon by Peter Bently
Monkey and Me by Emily Gravett
Songs and Fingerplays:
Tiny Tim
I had a little turtle. His name was Tiny Tim.
I put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim.
He drank up all the water. He ate up all the soap.
Now he's at home sick in bed with bubbles in his throat.
Bubble bubble bubble, bubble bubble POP!
Bubble bubble bubble, bubble bubble POP!
There are fun hand movements to accompany the words, starting with the ASL sign for turtle. Beforehand, the kids had fun guessing what animal the sign represented.

Project—Shaving Cream and Watercolors:
We used liquid watercolors for this project. Each child had his/her own dropper and a pan of shaving cream. Most chose to make an impression of their creation, but everyone had fun experimenting with the colors and shaving cream!
