Project—Nocturnal Scene:

 

Our project was similar to this, but we used construction paper for the trees (twigs were tricky to glue!) and real shredded leaf litter to make it more of an autumn scene.  The after-school crowd enjoyed the left-overs--a great craft for all ages!

We acted out the entire adventure, with inspiration from Michael Rosen's own wonderful performance of his picture book with Helen Oxenbury!

Project—Glow-in-the-dark Lanterns:

The kids painted the inside of mason jars with glow-in-the-dark paint and attached colorful coated wire to the lids to create a handle.

This was a great project! The kids picked out different colors for their train parts and experimented with how basic shapes can be combined to create something recognizable.
