ferry signThe Island Bike Ferry brings cyclists and pedestrians across the 200 foot gap in the Colchester and South Hero causeway bike paths. The ferry ride takes only five minutes and runs in all kinds of weather including winds up to 30 mph. It does close temporarily for lightning storms. The 2017 Ferry Schedule is 10 am to 6 pm on (May 26 - June 11) Fridays, Weekends & Holidays; (June 16 - Sept 4) 7 days a week; and Sept 8 - Oct 9) Fridays, Weekends & Holidays. The ferry is located ten miles from Burlington.

Reservations are required for the two adult fare passes (can be used for one adult and one child). The passes are only loaned as a pair. You may purchase fares for any other members of your party by cash only at the ferry. Round Trip: $8 Adults; $5 Youth 7-17; Free 6 & under. One Way: $5 Adults and Youth; Free 6 & under.

  • Call 878-4918 or stop by the library front desk to reserve a date
  • The pass will be ready for pick-up by noon on the reserved date
  • Pass must be returned by 10 am 2 days after the reserved date. It may be returned in the book drop. Please be considerate of the next borrower by returning it on time.
  • This pass is only available for Williston/St. George residents. Residents of other towns should call their home library to see if this pass is available.
