Special Event! Discover Aviation
In celebration of Women of Aviation Worldwide (WOAW) Week, the library is hosting an after school program led by Robin Guillian, Director of Aviation; Professional Pilot program at Vermont Technical College. Robin, with the help of some Vermont Tech aviation students, will be leading this event to expose all youth to the core activities: Aviate - Navigate and Communicate. Attendees will get to try a flight simulator, use navigation charts to make a flight plan, and listen to live air traffic control. Participants will also be invited to build a pink paper airplane as part of the Pink Paper Plane Challenge in celebration of the anniversary of the World's first pilot's license awarded to a woman, Raymonde De La Roche, on March 8, 1910. This is an engaging and hands-on event for youth of all genders, best for ages 6 and up. Thursday, March 5, 3-4:30 pm. No registration required.
