January Adult Craft Kits To-Go

craneorBook Arts Series: Winter Challenge: 1,000 Paper Cranes
Join us for a three-part crafting series on book and paper arts. In Japan the crane is considered a sacred bird, heralded as a symbol of happiness and longevity.  It is common for people to fold 1,000 paper cranes to lift up a sick friend, or to offer one another communal hope and mutual support during difficult times. Join us this winter in creating a Japanese Senbasuru, a display of 1,000 paper cranes.  Recycle your old magazines by transforming them into art! Watch here for a video of how to make a crane, and pick up a bag with instructions at the library beginning January 2nd  by ringing our doorbell during library hours (Mon-Fri 10-6, Sat 10-3). Drop off completed cranes by leaving them in the bag on our porch Jan 2-Feb 27.

Giving TreeConsider supporting the Library this holiday season. Sponsor a favorite program or purchase a book or DVD in someone’s honor. The Giving Tree display is available in our vestibule when the Library is open. Simply take a tag, fill it out and return it to the Library Book Drop. Payments may be made online here or included with your tag.
