The physical library is closed until further notice to keep our patrons and staff safe but the virtual library is open!
While we are all staying safe and sheltering in place it is important to connect virtually with others. Zoom offers a platform to talk with and see others online as are other programs like FaceTime and Skype. People can sign up for free Zoom accounts which allow for 40 minute sessions. 40 minutes not enough? When the session runs out you can always start a new one! Paid versions are available and more information about pricing is on the Zoom website. Need to know more about how to use Zoom? They offer excellent tutorials here.
As with any web program, it is important to make sure you are following security guidelines. Safety guidelines regarding Zoom can be found here. The newest recommendations include using the "waiting room" feature, not publishing meeting links on social media, using invitations to people that wish to be part of the meeting and being comfortable with how to remove people from a meeting.
